In a chart battle that came down to the wire, Pledis/Geffen’s SEVENTEEN has edged out Morgan Wallen for #1 on the HITS Top 50, posting 141k. The vast majority of the K-pop group’s total comes from pure sales.
Wallen’s One Thing at a Time (Big Loud/Mercury/Republic) clocks in at #2 with 136k. The country disruptor had spent eight uninterrupted weeks in the top spot. His 2021 set, Dangerous: The Double Album, meanwhile, makes its way back into the Top 5, continuing a seemingly unstoppable run.
Debuting in the Top 10 are DEL/Ingrooves’ Eslabon Armado at #6 with Desvelado, which opens with 42k, and Jack Harlow, who follows at #8 as Jackman. delivers 36k. The National’s gothically titled The First Two Pages of Frankenstein (4AD) opens in the Top 15. RCA Nashville's Nate Smith scores more than 19k with his self-titled debut, good for #28.
Republic’s Taylor Swift and TDE/RCA’s SZA round out the Top 5 with Midnights and SOS at #3 and #4. Tay owns an astounding eight spots on the chart.
Streeting this week are Ed Sheeran with - (Asylum/Atlantic), Justin Moore with Stray Dog (BMLG), Megan Moroney with Lucky (Columbia Nashville) and Guardians of the Galaxy, Awesome Mix Vol. 3 (Hollywood).
