Post Malone will receive the Hal David Starlight Award at the 52nd annual Songwriters Hall of Fame Induction and Awards Dinner.
Created in 2004 in honor of SHOF Chairman Emeritus Hal David, the award goes to young songwriters making a significant impact in the music industry.
“Over the last few years, I've had the pleasure of watching Posty become one of the biggest artists in the world, and he’s done it by writing phenomenal songs,” said SHOF Chairman Nile Rodgers. “Way before Post Malone was a superstar, he was a great songwriter, and this is his first step into the Songwriters Hall of Fame.”
Malone is the writer or co-writer of all of his songs, among them “I Fall Apart,” “Better Now,” “Congratulations,” “Rockstar,” “Sunflower” and “Chemical.”
Coincidentally, Posty has the lyrics to “I Just Don’t Know What to Do With Myself” tattooed on his face.
The 52nd annual Songwriters Hall of Fame Induction and Awards Dinner will take place on 6/15 at New York's Marriott Marquis Hotel. For more information, click here.
