Virgin Music Group, in partnership with Grey Area Music, has signed genre-bending singer-songwriter-rapper David Morris. In celebration of the deal, Morris will release his new single, “Jenny’s Song,” on 5/23.
A native of Charleston, West Virginia, Morris, plays an Appalachian-shaded style of country music. He enjoyed a breakthrough in 2022 with the release of "Carrying Your Love," which went viral on TikTok, and its follow-up, “Dutton Ranch Freestyle.” Since making his debut, he's earned 110m+ streams and supported Jelly Roll and Kidd G on tour.
Said Virgin Music President Jacqueline Saturn, "When we heard ‘Dutton Ranch Freestyle,’ we were immediately blown away. David has an incredible connection with his fans that will only continue to grow.”
“From the moment I met Jacqueline, Matt [Sawin] and the whole Virgin team, we knew this partnership was the right move,” Morris said.
“We're happy to join forces with Virgin, sharing in the ‘artist first’ approach as David’s career continues to rise,” said Grey Area Music co-founder/CEO Collin McMillan.
Having wrapped a U.S. tour that culminated in two hometown shows in April, Morris is gearing up to announce more dates later this year.
