Virgin's David Kushner has arrived. The Chicago native's latest single, "Daylight," exploded at DSPs upon release. It was Spotify's top debut over the weekend, opening at #6 on the platform's global chart. "Daylight" is also approaching the Top 50 in the U.S. on Apple Music.
Kushner, who's repped for legal by Peter Lewit, has flirted with virality throughout his brief career. On TikTok, he has nearly 3m followers, with multiple tracks catching fire on the app. "Mr. Miserable" and "Forgettable Man," both from 2022, gained traction on TikTok, and both are approaching 100m streams on Spotify.
But with "Daylight," Kushner is experiencing his hottest start yet. The dramatic piano ballad, produced by Rob Kirwan (Hozier's "Take Me to Church"), is already up to 200,000+ creations on TikTok—twice as many as Kushner's previous tracks. "Daylight" also opened at #1 on Spotify in the U.K., where Kushner immediately sold out all three of his just-announced first headlining shows across the pond.
