It's been 20 years since Linkin Park released its landmark sophomore album, Meteora (Warner Bros./Machine Shop). To commemorate its impact, Warner will release a new edition on Friday (4/7). Exhibit space Beyond the Streets L.A. and local radio personality Stryker will host an associated livestream Q&A on Monday (4/10) with band members Mike Shinoda, Dave “Phoenix” Farrell and Joe Hahn.
Meteora landed at #1, selling more than 810k copies its first week. Singles included "Somewhere I Belong," "Faint," "Numb," "From the Inside" and "Breaking the Habit." To date, it has sold more than 16m copies worldwide, making it one of the Top 10 bestselling albums of the 21st century. It was certified septuple platinum by the RIAA in August 2017.
Linkin Park went on to release five more albums, culminating in One More Light, which arrived in May 2017. Singer Chester Bennnington died by suicide roughly two months later.
The Q&A with Shinoda, Farrell and Hahn will stream globally here via Facebook, YouTube and Twitch. For those able to attend in person, Beyond the Streets L.A. is located at 434 N. La Brea Ave. We'll be the ones getting hauled off by security.
