Anitta and Warner have announced that they are parting ways. She is now a free agent.
“After 11 years of successful partnership, we’ve agreed to go our separate ways,” goes a statement released jointly by the artist and label. “Anitta would like to thank the Warner Music team for all their support. And the Warner team wishes Anitta all the best in future.”
The Brazilian global superstar, who’s managed by S10 chief Brandon Silverstein and repped for legal by Ed Shapiro, was recently nominated for a Best New Artist Grammy, lit up the VMAs, AMAs and EMAs (where she won Best Latin), delivered a historic 2022 performance on Coachella’s main stage and became the first Latin female solo artist to have a global #1 song on Spotify, courtesy of “Envolver.”
The artist is now expanding her pop-cultural reach with a starring role on the seventh season of the Spanish Netflix series Elite.
Where will Anitta land? Are two majors edging into the lead? Are Brandon and Ed annoyed by our questions? Don’t touch that dial.
