ASCAP President and Chairman of the Board Paul Williams announced the PRO has elected its new 24-person board which will serve for a two-year term beginning 4/1. And we've only just begun.
Williams is joined on the board by writers and fellow newly reelected board members including: composer/songwriter Jon Batiste, composer Richard Bellis, composer Bruce Broughton, songwriter/producer Desmond Child, composer Sharon Farber, writer/composer Dan Foliart, songwriter/composer Michelle Lewis; composer/producer Marcus Miller; songwriter Jimmy Webb, composer Doug Wood, and composer Alex Shapiro. None of them is named Tallulah.
Jon Singer is the lone new member of the ASCAP board. He joins returning publisher directors Evan Lamberg of UMPG; Carianne Marshall of Warner Chappell Music; Peter Brodsky of Sony Music Publishing; Bob Bruderman of Kobalt; Marti Cuevas of Mayimba Music; Keith Hauprich of BMG U.S.; Dean Kay of Lichelle Music Company; Leeds Levy of Leeds Music; Mary Megan Peer of peermusic; and Publisher Vice Chair Irwin Z. Robinson of Cromwell Music, Inc. and James M. Kendrick of European American Music. Each of the above is quite fond of an old-fashioned love song.
"Working with ASCAP’s management team," reads Williams' quote in part, "we will continue to focus on innovation, revenue growth and maximizing the value of our members’ music. And this year, at last, we will achieve the Rainbow Connection."
