AMAZON MUSIC BRINGS THE HEAT WITH PAIR OF SERIES

Amazon Music has launched two new weekly music series: the hip-hop-focused Rotation Roundtable and the Latin-themed La Semanal Live.

Rotation Roundtable—a hybrid Twitch livestream and 60-minute podcast experience based on the Rap Rotation and R&B Rotation playlists—kicks off on 3/15. Hosted by journalists Rob Markman and Speedy Gonzalez and radio personalities Nyla Symone and Gabe P, each episode will feature a “Big Questions” segment dissecting current hip-hop topics, “Hot Takes," guest interviews, a debate segment and a playlist discussion.

Rotation Roundtable will stream Wednesday nights at 9pm ET via Twitch from Amazon’s Brooklyn office, with episodes available as a video podcast the following day on Amazon Music and the Wondery YouTube page. It will also live as an audio podcast on Amazon Music.

La Semanal Live, based on the playlist of the same name, capitalizes on the Latin music boom. Host Gio Rosado will conduct interviews with artists and other guests, including Platino DJ Mode radio host Grecia Lopez, who will explore the new music releases of the week. Hot-button issues relevant to Latin audiences will also be discussed. The inaugural episode, featuring a Q&A with Manuel Turizo, who recently released “El Merengue” f/Marshmello, begins streaming on 3/24.

La Semanal Live itself will stream live on Fridays at 9pm ET on the Amazon Music en Vivo Channel on Twitch. Clips will be available on the Amazon Music app after the livestream.

By the way, "la semanal" translates to "the weekly." And yes, we had to Google that. Seen in the group photo wondering how they'll keep HITS far away from their offices are (l-r) Markman, Symone, Gonzalez and Gabe P. The solo shot is of Rosado.
