THE SCARLET OPERA PROVES ROCK IS VERY MUCH "ALIVE"

If anyone's going to revive the glory days of Queen-style rock, our money's on SB Projects/Republic's The Scarlet Opera. The L.A.-based troupe, whose debut EP, Comedy, drops 3/24, garnishes its regal bombast with a modern-Broadway overlay; frontman Luke Bazulka is a virtuosic vocalist and dazzlingly flamboyant frontman.

You can see for yourself in this knockout clip from Corden, in which the band blazes through lead single "Alive." If you've been missing the days when rock was unapologetically big, brassy and soaringly melodic, you're about to get happy.

The Scarlet Opera's West Coast tour—which we imagine will leave behind little but smoking rubble—kicks off in Sacramento on 4/3; for details, go here. In a related story, Scooter Braun is said to be looking for some leather pants that work with his Birkenstocks.
