PREMIO LO NUESTRO WRAP-UP

Indie Regional MX giant Grupo Firme enjoyed the most wins—six—at the 2023 Premio Lo Nuestro awards in Miami on 2/23. With nine nominations total, the Tijuana septet scored trophies for Regional Mexican Song of the Year ("Ya Supérame [En Vivo]") and Regional MX Album of the Year (Enfiestados y Amanecidos), among its other laurels.

Universal Music Latino stars Karol G and Sebastián Yatra earned four wins apiece. Yatra, who also served as co-host of the ceremony, broadcast on Univision, was the most-nominated artist with 10 nods. He secured wins in Male Artist of the Year (Pop), Pop Song of the Year ("Tacones Rojas"), Pop Album of the Year (Dharma) and Pop Ballad of the Year.

Karol G was awarded Artist of the Year—beating Bad Bunny and the aforementioned winners—and Song of the Year ("MAMIII" w/Becky G), as well as Female Artist of the Year (Urban) and Urban Song of the Year ("Provenza").

Other notable winners include Sony Latin's Shakira for Pop Female Artist of the Year, Dale Play's Bizzarap for Best New Artist (Male) and Lumbre/Columbia rookies Yahritza y Su Esencia, who took home Regional MX Song of the Year (Sierreño) for "Soy el Unico."
