Warner Music Group has launched a yearlong initiative to celebrate 50 years of hip-hop. Dubbed “Hip-Hop Fifty,” the campaign promises to merge the worlds of art, fashion, sports and music in honor of the groundbreaking genre.
WMG has linked up with Dolby, LGND Music, the New York Red Bulls, Peloton and Vinyl Me, Please, among other strategic partners, for “Hip-Hop Fifty” initiatives.
The festivities kicked off at the Official 2023 Grammy House in L.A. during Grammy week. Presented by the Recording Academy and CBS, with production by the ANTHEMIC Agency, which collaborated with WMG’s Global Catalog Division on the build-out, as Grammy House provided an immersive space designed to spotlight five decades of hip-hop music and culture.
Among the upcoming activities are Dolby Atmos re-releases, listening events and Q&As in New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco and London, Peloton rides and limited-edition vinyl pressings, including Earl Sweatshirt’s Sick!, due next month.
