WCM GOES GLOBAL WITH ZACH BRYAN

Zach Bryan is going all in with Warner Music Group, signing a global publishing deal with Warner Chappell Music.

Signed to Warner Records, Bryan said the Warner Chappell team was the first he spoke with when he was still in the Navy and looking for a deal.

“I owe them more than just support," he said. "I owe them back the faith they had in me as a barely 23-year-old Oklahoma kid walking around New York like a sore thumb."

Last year Bryan’s debut, American Heartbreak, posted the biggest first week in sales for a country album. With more than 1b global streams, he also holds the record for 2022's most-streamed country album in a single day on Spotify and Apple Music.

Said WCM Head of A&R, Australia and Vice President, Creative David Goldsen, “Zach is a truly generational songwriter and that was obvious to me from the first time I heard his music. Those songs then, along with countless more since, resonate with everyone who hears them. He’s a natural storyteller with an innate ability to write songs that are unapologetically raw and vulnerable.” Goldsen, who's generating buzz as one of the hot young players in pub A&R, gets the collar for the Bryan signing. His other acquisitions include Tones and I, Mitski and Vance Joy.

WCM President, North America Ryan Press added: “Zach has already had a record-breaking start to his career and there’s so much more to come. He isn’t afraid to do things differently. It’s been incredible to see him become such a positive force in the industry and reshape how singer-songwriters release music.”

Bryan recently teamed up with Maggie Rogers on the single “Dawns” and is working on his next album, Writers and Fighters.
