SAM SMITH, LIL BABY HEADED TO SNL

Musical guest Sam Smith will perform on the Aubrey Plaza-hosted season debut of Saturday Night Live on 1/21, while Lil Baby will be paired with host Michael B. Jordan on 1/28. SNL made the official announcement via Instagram on 1/5.

This will mark the third SNL appearance by Smith, who ended 2022 on a high note thanks to the monster single "Unholy" f/Kim Petras (Capitol). Gloria, the British star's new full-length, is slated to drop on 1/27. You'll recall that Smith's first segment on the show in 2014 helped set an extraordinary chart run in motion and played a role in laying the groundwork for Grammy glory.

Lil Baby, on the other hand, is making his SNL debut. The rap phenom's latest studio album, It's Only Me (QC/Motown), which arrived last October, debuted at #1.

As for the rest of the show, we look forward to at least 12 Kevin McCarthy jokes per episode.
