Prior to her 12/15 performance on the Amazon Music Live stage in L.A., Warner breakout and Grammy Best New Artist contender Anitta figured there must be an English phrase to describe being stuck in a photo op with a music-trade hack who natters incessantly about her tiny dog; the Portuguese expression, of course, is preso com um chorão irritante. Meanwhile, HITS' Nicole Ghapgharan made a mental note to pick up more of those little liver-flavored treats, and also something for the dog. Seen thinking no samba was ever more one-note are (l-r) Ghapgharan, S10 Chief Brandon Silverstein, Anitta and Amazon Music VP Steve Boom and Principal, Label Relations Andrew Sexton.
Anitta's 20-song AML set—which included fan favorites and numbers from her latest album, Versions of Me, including “Envolver,” “Gata,” “Maria Elegante” and “Boys Don’t Cry”—saw her accompanied by an energetic troupe of dancers. The weekly livestreamed series, which previously welcomed Lil Baby, Megan Thee Stallion, Kane Brown, Lil Wayne, Anuel AA and A$AP Rocky, will wrap on 12/29 with 21 Savage. The shows are available on demand for a limited time. Peep them here.
