ALL ABOARD OZZY'S GRAMMY TRAIN

Rock legend Ozzy Osbourne capped off a momentous comeback year—which saw a Top 5 bow for the critically acclaimed Patient Number 9 (Epic)—with the biggest Grammy-nom haul of his career; he's up for four trophies. Will the Recording Academy secure the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee's majestic presence for the show?

Osbourne’s latest LP is in contention for Best Rock Album, and the song “Patient Number 9” f/Jeff Beck is in the running for Best Rock Performance and Best Rock Song. All three nods are a first for Ozz as a solo artist. His “Degradation Rules” f/Tony Iommi, meanwhile, is up for Best Metal Performance.

Furthering the Prince of Darkness' triumphant return, Patient Number 9 produced back-to-back #1s at Rock radio, with its title track and “One of Those Days” f/Eric Clapton.

Osbourne is one of the few entertainers beloved by multiple generations of fans—and one of the few recognizable by a single name. Indeed, there is only one Ozzy, and one would hope the Academy would kiss the ring of this rock royalty come Grammy night.
