SZA’s SOS (TDE/RCA) is now trending toward total activity north of 300k. At its current projection of 311k, the album will enjoy the sixth-biggest debut of 2022, coming in ahead of Kendrick Lamar’s first week of 295k for Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers (pgLang/TDE/ Aftermath/Interscope). SZA is also very much within striking distance of the #5 spot as SOS is currently only 3k behind BTS’ 314k opening for Proof (BigHit/Geffen).
Meanwhile, Republic holds down the next three spots on the chart with Taylor Swift’s Midnights and Metro Boomin’s HEROES & VILLAINS (Boominati). Morgan Wallen's Dangerous: The Double Album (Big Loud/Mercury) may fall out of the Top 10 for only the second time in its nearly two-year history. As was the case last December, multiple Christmas albums are outpacing Wallen's weekly total, pushing it down in ranking.
Now pass the Christmas Kush.
