COUNTDOWN TO SHOWTIME
CBS EVP, Specials, Music & Live Events Jack Sussman is busily prepping this year’s Grammy telecast, which—judging by the nominations—should be especially heavy on superstar firepower. The highly capable TV veteran also has on his plate the Mariah Carey Christmas special, New Year’s Eve in Nashville and the Kennedy Center Honors celebrating U2, Gladys Knight, Amy Grant, George Clooney and Tania León. What sorts of surprises await on Music’s Biggest Night? Sussman is tight-lipped about Team Grammy’s plans, but he’s been very clear about one thing: He truly hopes not to run into us.
