Metro Boomin earns his second solo #1 on the HITS Top 50 as Heroes & Villains (Boominati Worldwide/Republic) opens with 182k. The 15-track album, which includes guest features by The Weeknd, 21 Savage, Future, Travis Scott and more, gives Monte Lipman’s Republic control of the Top 3, with superstar sets from Taylor Swift and Drake continuing to post big numbers at #2 and #3, respectively. Thanks to Metro’s bow, the label can claim ownership of the #1 spot for seven consecutive weeks.
Swift’s Midnights adds 141k to its tally, inching toward 3m in total activity. Only Bad Bunny’s Un Verano Sin Ti (Rimas), which moves to #4 this week, will accompany Swift to 2022's 3m+ club.
Reprise’s Michael Bublé leads holiday titles, his Christmas at #5; Nat King Cole’s Christmas Song (Capitol) moves to #9.
Columbia’s Harry Styles climbs to #6 thanks to a new physical offering of Harry’s House that's provided a 30k boost in pure sales.
The week’s top debuts include sets from four global sensations: Indigo (Bighit/Geffen) by BTS’ RM at #15, Ivan Cornejo’s Dañado (Manzana) at #25, ITZY’s Cheshire (JYP/Imperial/Republic) at #27 and Arcángel’s Sr. Santos (Rimas) at #35.
Streeting this week are new titles from TDE/RCA’s SZA, The Orchard’s Anuel AA and Atlantic’s A Boogie Wit da Hoodie, as well as a vinyl edition of Zach Bryan’s American Heartbreak (Warner).
Now, if you’ll excuse us, we’ll continue curating our Jingle Cats megamix.
