BLACK FRIDAY HAS THE PARIS BLUES

Paris Blues, a limited-edition Doors vinyl compilation created by Rhino for the Black Friday iteration of Record Store Day, was the top-selling album on 11/25 for the Coalition of Independent Music Stores. Check out the CIMS Top 100 of BF RSD below the clip.

The LP's title track, a noirish slow-blues jam, turns out to be the last unheard studio recording in the Doors vault. According to the label, the original master tape of the song was lost decades ago, and the only remaining tape copy was partially recorded over by Ray Manzarek’s then-toddler son. Modern technology allowed the track to be restored for this release. Give it a listen.
