WMG FORGES DIGITAL-COLLECTIBLES PARTNERSHIP

Warner Music Group has entered a multiyear partnership with blockchain developer Polygon Companies and e-commerce and interactive-platform builder LGND.io to launch LGND Music.

Built on the Polygon network, LGND Music will arrive in January. The platform will avail itself of WMG’s Spinnin’ Records, with select artists introducing collectibles, and offer music collectors a decentralized ecosystem based on full ownership of digital assets. It will also support digital collectibles on any blockchain.

“WMG’s partnership with LGND and Polygon will help our artists experiment with and build across Web3 technologies to grow and engage their communities,” said WMG Chief Digital Officer & EVP, Business Development Oana Ruxandra. Added Polygon Studios CEO Ryan Wyatt, “The way we own and experience music is evolving. By fully embracing decentralized technologies and collectibles, this exclusive partnership represents an exciting milestone for the music industry." Noted LGND CEO Michael Rockwell, “With the strong support of the Polygon ecosystem, LGND Music is poised to spur the evolution of the music industry.”
