TOP 50 HOLIDAY SONGS: A MERRY LOT

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas—and not just at your local Target; the Top 50 seasonal songs for the week ending 12/1 have arrived.

With Brenda Lee's 1958 classic "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree" (MCA Nashville/UMG) at #1 and Mariah Carey's "All I Want for Christmas Is You" (Columbia/SME) at #2, the marketplace is brimming (or should we say "Burl-ing?" Let's not) with Christmas cheer. A preliminary peek in the majors' stockings shows that UMG sits at 48%, SME at 37% and WMG at 14% (1% is attributed to "other"). Check out the Top 50 yuletide ditties below and expect the holiday spirit to become even more potent in the coming days and weeks.

If you need us, we'll be baking some very special cookies for Santa; after consuming them, he should probably refrain from operating reindeer-driven machinery.
