REPUBLIC REELS IN 17 NOMS

With the Grammys swiftly approaching, the Lipman brothers' Republic has tallied 17 nominations.

Taylor Swift scored four noms this year, including Song of the Year and Best Music Video for “All Too Well (10 Minute Version) (The Short Film),” Best Song Written for Visual Media for “Carolina” from Where the Crawdads Sing and Best Country Song for “I Bet You Think About Me (Taylor's Version).”

In the latter category, Swift will go up against labelmate Julia Michaels, who co-wrote Maren Morris’ “Circles Around This Town.” And with her sixth SOTY nod, Swift officially tied Paul McCartney and Lionel Richie for most nominations in the category.

Also snagging top-tier noms are John Legend and Lil Wayne for their feature on DJ Khaled’s “GOD DID” with Fridayy, JAY-Z & Rick Ross. The single is also up for Best Rap Performance and Best Rap Song, in which category Legend and Wayne will go up against labelmate Drake for his feature on two tracks, Future’s “WAIT FOR U” f/Tems—also up for Best Melodic Rap Performance—and Jack Harlow’s “Churchill Downs.”

Meanwhile, Post Malone’s “I Like You (A Happier Song)” w/Doja Cat is nominated for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance. Posty was nominated in the category in 2020 for his 17-times-platinum “Sunflower” w/Swae Lee.

Elsewhere, Florence + the Machine are competing for Best Alternative Music Performance, Daddy Yankee will vie for Best Música Urbana Album, Amanda Reifer and Kim Petras become first-time nominees and composer Nicholas Britell earns a Best Score Soundtrack for Visual Media nod.

Things are so hot at Republic right now that Jim Roppo thinks he’s back in Panama.
