SPOTIFY LAUNCHES LATIN MIXTAPE SERIES FUEGO

Spotify has launched a new Latin-music playlist, Fuego, inspired by personal mixtapes and Gen Z listening patterns.

The aim is to provide a handpicked selection of songs representing the pulse of Latin youth culture, helping listeners discover new artists, honor throwbacks and apprise them of what's trending.

Each Thursday Spotify will reveal a new Fuego track list and cover. Every mixtape will have a number attached to it so fans can keep track of their faves.

Commented Spotify Head of U.S. Latin Editorial Antonio Vázquez, "Fuego takes an innovative approach to curation and seeks to create a community of listeners engaged with the mixtapes, constantly looking for new and exciting content in the Latin space. This is only the beginning of a long-term vision for the project, which will involve additional layers of content we can’t wait to bring to life."

Latin music has demonstrated rapid global growth in the last three years, increasing in listenership by 137%. It's the fourth-biggest genre on Spotify.

Argentine chart-topper Bizarrap graces the cover of this week's mixtape, led by his latest Bzrp Music Sessions (Dale Play via The Orchard) cut, "Vol. 51" f/Villano Antillano. Biza's "Vol. 50" f/Duki soared to #3 on the Spot's global chart.
