Elton John will have a few guests joining him for the final performance of his AEG-presented Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour: Dua Lipa, Kiki Dee and Brandi Carlile will take the stage with him at Dodger Stadium Sunday.
Last year, John and Lipa had a #1 U.K. hit with “Cold Heart (PNAU Remix),” and Carlile contributed “Simple Things” to his Lockdown Sessions. It’s been 46 years, however, since John and Dee hit #1 with “Don’t Go Breaking My Heart.”
The concert will be livestreamed on Disney+ starting at 8pm PT/11pm ET and preceded by Countdown to Elton Live. Fulwell 73 Productions and Rocket Entertainment are producing the TV shows.
Moreover, iHeart will broadcast the hourlong iHeartRadio Presents Elton John’s Thank You to America: The Final Song, starting at 10pm PT. The special will feature legendary moments from Elton’s career and include a live simulcast of his final song and closing remarks at Dodger Stadium.
This monumental billboard, by the by, is on L.A.'s legendary Sunset Strip, close to a spot where you can supposedly get a pretty good branzino.
How moving would it be if Elton reached back 50+ years ago and wrapped it all by singing, “My gift is my song and this one’s for you?" Chills.
