Drake was expected to perform at New York's legendary Apollo Theater Friday (11/11) but rescheduled for 12/6 out of respect for Migos rapper Takeoff, who was fatally shot last week.
Amid the reshuffling, a second date has been added to the engagement; the OVO Sound/Republic powerhouse will also play 12/7 at the famed venue. The shows take place as Her Loss, his new collaborative album with 21 Savage, dominates the DSPs. Presented by SiriusXM, the concerts mark Drizzy's first time headlining the Apollo.
Drake briefly addressed the cancellation on his Instagram Stories, writing, "The Apollo show has been moved to allow us to pay respect to our dear friend this weekend. We have added a second date for the fans."
A celebration of Takeoff's life is scheduled for 11/11 at State Farm Arena in Atlanta, his hometown. As for the upcoming Drizzy dates, more information can be found here.
