PHARRELL + BTS: A PHRIENDLY COLLAB

Pharrell Williams (I Am Other/Columbia) has confirmed that BTS (Bighit/ Columbia) will appear on his forthcoming album, Phriends. Speaking with BTS member RM for Rolling Stone, the N.E.R.D mastermind was hesitant to reveal too much but said just enough to get the BTS ARMY riled up.

Pharrell referred to the set as "volume one," implying an ongoing series. "I’m actually talking about this way more than I’m supposed to," he added, "but it’s a song from my album that [BTS] sang and it’s amazing, and I’m super-grateful. Everyone that hears it is like, ‘Whoa.'"

BTS fans will presumably eat up anything the K-pop group has to offer individually or collectively, especially since learning that the act won't be able to perform as a septet until 2025; last month, Bighit announced that Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V and Jung Kook will complete mandatory military service in South Korea before resuming their insanely successful music careers. In the meantime, RM is focused on his forthcoming solo album, which Williams eagerly volunteered to hop on whenever he's ready.

"You said you’re 90 percent done with your solo album," he noted. "But if within that last 10 percent... if you want to do something, we can actually do it."
