PEPPERS DO IT BACK TO BACK

Red Hot Chili Peppers have become the first rock band to have two #1 albums in the same year in more than 15 years as Return of the Dream Canteen follows April’s Unlimited Love to the top of the album sales chart.

The feat comes as the Warner band is celebrating a string of achievements—they just completed the biggest tour in their history, lead single “Tippa My Tongue" extended their record for the most #1s in Alternative airplay history and they were honored with the MTV VMA Global Icon Award.

The stadium tour resumes in January in New Zealand and Australia. That dream canteen is obviously filled with some potent juice.

In case you were wondering, System of a Down managed the same chart feat back in the CD/download era of 2005.
