GRAMMY CHEW: STILL WILD ABOUT HARRY

Columbia’s Harry Styles, in addition to being arguably the biggest star in pop, is a bona fide multimedia pop-cultural force. While nothing is inevitable in Grammyland, it certainly stands to reason that the painfully handsome, insanely charming British troubadour will deservedly be the recipient of significant Grammy love when noms are handed down.

Styles’ #1 giant Harry’s House has yielded a streaming phenomenon in single “As It Was,” which is rocketing toward the 1.5 billion global-streams mark on Spotify alone. “Late Night Talking,” meanwhile, is closing in on 400m on the Spot. Harry has conquered radio, has mounted a colossally successful tour (during which he’s virtually taken ownership of the new residency model with 15-show runs at MSG and the Forum) and emerged as a dashing film star.

Grammy should certainly recognize Harry’s extraordinary achievements, both creative and commercial, with some top-tier noms—AOTY, ROTY and SOTY should all be on the table. How will he fare? Stay tuned.
