Pinterest is adding music from Warner Music Group and others as it expands its library. Now you can search for disco outfits while grooving to Silk Sonic.
“The future of media will be founded on music,” WMG Chief Digital Officer & EVP, Business Development Oana Ruxandra said. “WMG, including our publishing partners at Warner Chappell, is incredibly excited to partner with Pinterest to help inspire its users to engage, design and imagine. Together, the creative potential for Pinterest audiences will be virtually endless.”
WMG, WCM, Merlin and BMG are adding their artists’ music to the platform. The partnerships expand Pinterest’s existing royalty-free music library to include popular licensed tracks powered by 7Digital. Additionally, Rumblefish is providing Pinterest with music metadata and license-management services.
Pinterest also rolled out a new music UX to make it even easier for Pinners and creators to find and add their favorite tracks to Idea Pins. Users will have the ability to search for their desired track by song title, artist or keyword.
This is leaps and bounds beyond the Phish bootleg we played on a boombox at last week’s garage sale.
