YTD VIDEO STREAMS:
COMPARE/CONTRAST

We found a few surprises when looking at YTD video streams vs. their audio counterparts. “INDUSTRY BABY” (Columbia) from Lil Nas X & Jack Harlow is the most-streamed video thus far in 2022. The song—from 2021’s MONTERO—has been viewed 429m times in the U.S., while it currently ranks 12th on the year in audio streams with 274m plays. In the runner-up spot for video is Coldplay’s “Hymn for the Weekend” (Parlophone) with nearly 380m views, but it’s just #196 in audio-only streams with 53m. Do Coldplay fans prefer looking at Chris Martin?

Witt Lowry’s self-released “Into Your Arms” f/Ava Max, Duncan Laurence’s “Arcade” (Capitol) and Måneskin’s “Beggin’” (Arista) are in the YTD video Top 10. The three tracks are ranked between #180-200 in audio streams.

Looking at Harry Styles’ “As It Was” (Columbia) in reverse, the song has collected half a billion audio streams since its release, a stark contrast to the video’s #22 ranking.
