PORTER TAPPED TO HOST SPIRIT OF LIFE GALA

Billy Porter will host and perform at the City of Hope's 2022 Spirit of Life Gala on 10/27 at the Pacific Design Center in L.A., where Republic Records founders Monte and Avery Lipman are being honored with The Spirit of Life Award.

City of Hope, one of the largest cancer research and treatment organizations in the U.S., has also enlisted fellow Republic artist Jack Johnson to perform.

City of Hope’s Music, Film and Entertainment Industry Group has raised nearly $125m over the course of its 49-year history, vital funds for pioneering research. This year, the Lipman brothers have continued the tradition with a campaign aimed at accelerating treatment innovations developed at City of Hope.

The Spirit of Life Award is presented to an "esteemed community of industry leaders" who've made significant contributions to City of Hope. Past Music, Film and Entertainment Industry group recipients include Sylvia Rhone, Jon Platt, Mo Ostin, Clive Davis, Quincy Jones, Joel A. Katz, Coran Capshaw, Frances W. Preston, Eddy Cue, Shelli and Irving Azoff, Edgar Bronfman Jr., Doug Morris and Sir Lucian Grainge.

Additional Spirit of Life Gala details will be announced as the date inches closer. For more information, head here while we rethink what we've been doing with our lives.
