Disney+’s She-Hulk: Attorney at Law is winning more than cases; the series is dominating the biggest movers lists on the Shazam Top 100 on both sides of the Atlantic.
A recent episode’s use of Dua Lipa’s 2017 track “IDGAF” (Warner) and HAIM’s 2020 “Now I’m In It” (Columbia) has seen the songs skyrocket in popularity in the U.S. and U.K. An almost equally thumb-attracting sync is LVCRFT’s “Skeleton Sam,” from the Hocus Pocus 2 soundtrack (Walt Disney Records).
Stateside, Shazammers are flipping for Kerala Dust’s cover of Fleetwood Mac’s “The Chain” (AllPoints) after its use in The Handmaid’s Tale. (Bonus trivia: “The Chain” is the only song from the Stevie Nicks/Lindsey Buckingham era on which the entire band is credited as songwriters.)
Meanwhile, the death of Coolio has resulted in the revival of “Gangsta’s Paradise,” but a lot of folks apparently need Shazam’s help in identifying the rapper.
