At his hometown arena gig in Miami last weekend, Sebastián Yatra is flanked by Universal Music LatAm & Iberian Peninsula Chairman/CEO Jesús López and Universal Music Latino prez Angel Kaminsky, who presented the Colombian hitmaker with a plaque for his latest full-length, Dharma.
Dharma has moved major units across the globe, earning RIAA certifications in the U.S. (quadruple platinum), Colombia (double diamond), Peru (double diamond), Ecuador (octuple platinum), Puerto Rico (quadruple platinum), Chile (37-times platinum) and Spain (gold).
Yatra is up for Latin Grammys for Album of the Year, Pop Vocal Album and Song of the Year for "Tacones Rojos."
In 2021 he recorded "Dos Oruguitas" and its English-language version for the soundtrack to Encanto. The song was nominated for an Oscar for Best Original Song; Yatra performed it at the 2022 Academy Awards.
Thanks to that performance, HITS nerds have learned how to say "caterpillar" in Spanish, expanding their foreign-language skills beyond "Bruno."
