Universal Music India has acquired a majority stake in India’s TM Ventures, a full-service music company with units dedicated to talent management, entertainment consulting and live events.

The companies’ offering will be unique in the Indian market, encompassing talent discovery, brand solutions, sync placements and music creation, release and marketing.

TM Ventures was founded in 2020 by Tarsame Mittal. Spanning music, comedy, TV and film, it houses TM Talent Management, TM Entertainment Consultant, the B2B digital publication Music Plus and Create and Collab, producer of the annual music conference All About Music.

Said UMG EVP, Market Development Adam Granite, “Together we will accelerate UMI’s evolution in India and South Asia by expanding the range of services we offer and accelerating our artist-development activities to introduce the very best in Indian talent to new audiences globally.”

“UMG’s experience, structure, process, access and guidance will lend the support required for us to work together toward our goal of providing world-class services and opportunities to our artists in the most transparent and innovative way,” Mittal said. “My partners, Alaap Gosher and Saurabh Abbi, and I are very excited about being part of the most trusted company in the music business globally. We can’t wait to get started."
