NINE INCH NAILS' REUNION WEEKEND

Captured looking for an actual pretty hate machine among the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame displays are past and present members of Nine Inch Nails, from left, Ross, Patrick, Rubin, Vrenna, Reznor, Cortini, Lohner, Finck and Clouser.

It was a weekend like no other for fans of industrial-metal rock band Nine Inch Nails and its brainchild, Trent Reznor.

At the band’s hometown show in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, on Saturday, Reznor surprised the sold-out crowd by bringing all nine current and former members onstage at the end of the group’s 23-song set to perform five staples from their early days, plus a cover of Filter’s 1994 hit “Hey Man, Nice Shot” that saw former member Richard Patrick on lead vocals.

A day earlier, at a Q&A billed as NIN Fan Day held at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, Reznor and the current NIN lineup—Ilan Rubin, Atticus Ross, Alessandro Cortini and Robin Finck—were joined by Pretty Hate Machine/Broken/The Downward Spiral accomplices Patrick, Danny Lohner, Chris Vrenna and Charlie Clouser. The expanded Nine Inch Nails performed “Eraser,” “Wish,” "Head Like a Hole," “Sin” and “Gave Up.”

Speaking of "Head Like a Hole," this item was contributed by Marc Pollack.
