Tommy Mottola and Lex Borrero's TV/film production hub Ntertain and on-air host Eliane Gallero have announced the development of El Plan, a Spanish-language web series that pairs Gallero with A-list talent in candid moments to highlight Latin culture. Co-created by Borrero, Gallero and creative director Ivanni Rodriguez, El Plan will be broadcast on Ntertain's YouTube channel.
The show’s first season will consist of nine episodes featuring some of today’s hottest Latin talent, including Justin Quiles, Danna Paola, Blessd, Tokischa and Álvaro Díaz.
Ntertain's other 2022 projects span Disney+'s Los Montaner and Netflix's Latin-music competition series, La Firma.
We caught up with Gallero to discuss, among other things, El Plan's contribution to la cultura.
How did you begin working with the team at Ntertain?
I met Lex a few years ago while working in the Latin-music industry. He told me about his vision to push Latin content to the forefront and build a bigger platform for Latin culture. We connected immediately; we were so aligned with what we wanted to do creatively. Ntertain allows me to collaborate with amazing creatives and evolve to become the best version of myself. It's a space where I can contribute to la cultura. For me, it was a no-brainer opportunity, so I've shifted my focus to be part of the Ntertain family and elevate la cultura in every way possible.
How has your background shaped your work?
I was born and raised in Caracas, Venezuela. Music was always very present at home. I started dancing at eight and at 15 became a dance teacher, which I did until I was 21. That enhanced my ear for music. From there I moved to Miami and was eventually hired as the music/entertainment host for the Miami Herald. I felt a huge connection with the music guests and loved learning about their work.
Who is El Plan aimed at?
El Plan is aimed at anyone who wants to connect with their favorite artists in a new and unique way. Viewers will be able to accompany me to learn more about the artists' lives outside of their work—fans will find out what a celebrity's day off is like.
