THE BEACH BOYS' VIDEO LOVE STORY

As part of the Beach Boys' 60th anniversary celebration, four of their songs are providing the soundtrack to a four-part video love story. It debuts today with the release of “Barbara Ann." The subsequent clips will be set to “Don’t Worry Baby,” which will be released Saturday, “Wouldn’t It Be Nice” (9/16) and “God Only Knows” (9/17).

Directed by Andrew Litten, the narrative focuses on a high-school romance between surfing-obsessed Helena (Zoe Manoek) and Lucas (Toby De Goede), an aspiring photographer and the new kid in town.

“A recurring theme throughout The Beach Boys’ music is the feeling of being young and in love,” said Litten. “Their most iconic songs were written when they were between the ages of 15 and 21, so there's this exciting view of life that’s immortalized in their lyrics. I wanted to do the same with the videos by capturing the spontaneity and playfulness of being a teenager, fantasizing about the future, pursuing new passions and falling in love.”
