WALLEN'S RECORD
AND OTHER STATS

Morgan Wallen’s Dangerous: The Double Album (Big Loud/Mercury) has set the modern-era* record for the most non-consecutive weeks in the Top 10 with 85, overtaking Adele’s 21 (XL). The set achieves this milestone in its 86th week of release.

Dangerous also moves ahead of the Encanto soundtrack (Walt Disney) to become the second-biggest album of 2022 thus far. Last year, Wallen finished on top as Dangerous amassed total 2021 activity of 3.23m. Year to date, Dangerous sits at 1.65m.

This year’s biggest album by far at the moment, however, is Un Verano Sin Ti (Rimas) from the unstoppable Bad Bunny, with more than 2.2m in activity. Look for it to pass 3m before Thanksgiving.

Next week (ending 9/8), Drake’s Certified Lover Boy (OVO/Republic) and Kendrick Lamar’s Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers (pgLang/TDE/Aftermath/Interscope) will each cross 1m in YTD activity. This will bring the year’s count of million-selling albums to 11. By the same time last year, seven albums had crossed that threshold. At the end of 2021, 26 albums had hit at least 1m.

*If you’re wondering, the modern chart era is defined as the period—the last 30 years, basically—in which actual unit counts are used to tabulate rankings.
