NON-FUNGIBLE TICKETMASTER

Ticketmaster is diving deeper into the virtual waters of NFTs, allowing event organizers to provide fans with an opportunity to stack digital collectibles. Organizers who sell live tickets through Ticketmaster can now issue NFTs before, during and after the event. To date, the company has minted more than 5m NFTs on the Flow blockchain.

The new feature allows fans to accrue digital keepsakes, which can later be shared online or activated to access loyalty rewards and VIP engagement offerings. Sadly, the technology will not allow others to see that you've painted your torso with your team's colors.

Ticketmaster chose to partner with Flow due to its success with NFL ALL DAY, NBA Top Shot and UFC Strike, among other initiatives.

"Event organizers have a real opportunity to make this new technology relevant and relatable at scale,” said Brendan Lynch, Ticketmaster EVP of enterprise & revenue. “We're partnering with Flow because their blockchain is custom-built for fan engagement and frictionless consumer experiences.”

Ticketmaster used Flow to distribute roughly 70,000 one-of-one virtual commemorative ticket NFTs for Super Bowl LVI, with each attendee’s seat location on the NFT itself. For the 2022 season, the NFL will offer Flow-minted NFTs to every attendee of more than 100 select games, including at least three home games of all 32 clubs.

Now, if they could just put beer on the blockchain, we'd be all set.
