TAYLOR ANNOUNCES NEW ALBUM, MIDNIGHTS

Republic's Taylor Swift is back. Following a surprise appearance at the MTV VMAs, the superstar officially revealed the title of her album of new material, Midnights, arriving 10/21.

Swift describes her 10th studio LP as "the stories of 13 sleepless nights scattered throughout my life."

During her acceptance speech for Video of the Year, Swift surprised fans by announcing that a new album would be arriving this fall.

"I’m just so proud of what we made, and I know that... we wouldn’t have been able to make this short film if it weren’t for you, the fans,” she said. "Because I wouldn’t be able to re-record my album [Red] if it weren’t for you. You emboldened me to do that. And I'd sort of made up my mind that if you were going to be this generous and give us this, I thought it might be a fun moment to tell you that my brand-new album comes out Oct. 21. And I will tell you more at midnight.”

Swift's VMA sweep made her the first-ever artist to solo direct the Video of the Year and first in VMA history to win three Video of the Year awards. She's also now the only female artist to win Best Direction twice for directing her own videos.

Pre-orders are available here. Vinyl, CDs and cassettes will ship during release week.
