WALLEN TIES ADELE WITH 84 TOP 10 WEEKS

When the chart went final Friday, Morgan Wallen’s Dangerous: The Double Album (Big Loud/Mercury) was tied with Adele's 21 (XL) for most non-consecutive weeks in the Top 10 in the modern era.

The record is 84 weeks, which 21 set in 2015. Dangerous has spent all but one of the previous 85 weeks in the Top 10; 21 needed 252 weeks to hit the milestone. The one chart week Dangerous fell out of the Top 10 was that of 12/23/21, when the popularity of Christmas albums by Nat King Cole and Phil Spector pushed it to #12.

The album has spent 63 weeks in the Top 5 and 10 weeks at #1. It has also been the #1 Country album for 71 non-consecutive weeks, breaking the 50-week record previously held by Luke CombsThis One’s for You and Shania Twain’s Come on Over.

The ATD for Dangerous: The Double Album is just under 5.83m; it has been streamed on demand nearly 7.4b times, with 6.75b coming via DSPs.

“Heartless” is the album’s most-consumed song, having been streamed more than 882m times to give it 6.5m in song activity. “More Than My Hometown,” “Cover Me Up” and “Wasted on You” have racked up song activity of more than 4m units apiece.

The record Dangerous is setting is for the modern era—the period that started 5/25/91, when actual unit counts or their equivalents began to determine chart rankings. The all-time record holder is the 1956 original cast recording of My Fair Lady, which logged a remarkable 173 weeks in the Top 10. So, with a little bit of luck…
