UMPG UPS GRAY TO GLOBAL GIG

UMPG has made veteran executive David Gray head of the newly formed UMPG Global Creative Group. Gray will lead an international team of senior A&R executives tasked with identifying and expanding opportunities worldwide for UMPG songwriters, artists and producers.

The New York-based Gray will also continue in his position as EVP and head of U.S. A&R, reporting to Jody Gerson, UMPG chairman and CEO.

Said Gerson, “David is always the first to offer support to our writers and creative executives all over the world. With this much-deserved promotion, he will further build on UMPG’s global creative strategy, which sets us apart from the industry—from investing in the best talent across all territories and developing their careers to supporting music’s biggest superstars."

Gray has been with UMPG since 2013, previously serving as co-head, A&R, and EVP, head of West Coast A&R. He is responsible for signing Shawn Mendes, the Jonas Brothers, Demi Lovato, Julia Michaels, Delacey, Logic and producer Tommy Brown.

Gray also works closely with UMPG’s Grammy-nominated producers Take a Daytrip (Lil Nas X, Travis Scott), having helped the duo build their UMPG JV, No Idle.

He looks forward to sending calls from HITS to voicemail on a global basis.
