Grab a juice box, fam; we’ve got news. Republic Co-Presidents Jim Roppo and Wendy Goldstein are trumpeting the launch of Republic Records: Kids & Family, which will usher a new stream of squeaky-clean content into the Republic ecosystem. Bree Bowles has been tapped as the new entity's VP, marketing and strategy. The division will release projects appropriate for audiences of all ages.
"We’ve always wanted to do a children’s label," Roppo said. "Family is everything to us. I'm a dad before anything else. We finally found the perfect partner and an incredible executive, Bree, to bring this venture to life with quality, family-friendly and fun music." He then added, "Kids, can you please keep it down? Daddy's trying to give a quote to the nice PR people... Can you... please..."
Bowles described the division's mission as "simple," with the goal of producing "world-class music" that families can experience together.
The exec has worked at Nickelodeon, Disney, Foxtel (News Corp) and The Brag Media over the course of her 15-year career. Most recently, she was stationed at Dayglo Presents, where she oversaw marketing and operations under live-music entrepreneur Peter Shapiro and helped unload copies of Raffi Sings the Grateful Dead.
Monte Lipman was finishing up some finger painting and was thus unavailable to comment.
