CAPITOL MAKES VIRTUAL HISTORY

FN Meka has become the first AR rapper to sign with a major label: Capitol. With more than 1b views and 10m TikTok followers, the "artist" is the #1 virtual being on the platform thanks to the success of singles "Moonwalkin," "Speed Demon" and "Internet."

On 8/12 Meka dropped a new single, "Florida Water," with Gunna and top gaming streamer Cody "Clix" Conrod boasting production by Turbo (Travis Scott, Young Thug, Lil Baby) and executive production by DJ Holiday (Nicki Minaj, Gucci Mane).

Through a special partnership between CMG and "creator-safe" music library Slip.Stream, the song was immediately available to Clix’s fans, allowing subscribers to use the music on YouTube and Twitch without monetization or takedowns.

Hailed as a "global first," the CMG-Slip.Stream partnership arrives courtesy of the apparently quite real collaboration between label boss Michelle Jubelirer and Ryan Ruden, the Tower's EVP of experiential marketing & biz dev.

In a related story, several HITS editors have been accused of being "virtual," but the evidence of human error is overwhelming.
