NOISEMAKERS: THE SUMMER SYNDICATE

In our latest roundup, we present eight more stars of tomorrow from various parts of the biz whose dedication and effort make their superiors look good.

This week's entrants will also find their faces in our latest mag. And if they don't care about that (because why should they?), we're told the pages make semi-decent blotting paper.

Karina Gonzalez
Music Agent, UTA

After helping plan and book Karol G’s Bichota Reloaded Tour—which sold out in 10 Latin American territories—it was surreal for Gonzalez to watch the artist make history as the first Latina to perform on the main stage at Coachella. Gonzalez now finds herself booking more of UTA’s roster on headlining tours and festivals across Latin America, including Rock in Rio, Lollapalooza, Corona Capital and Primavera Sounds. She’s also a certified yoga teacher who’s been practicing for more than seven years. We’re certified specialists in corpse pose.

Jordan Burg

Senior Manager, Hallwood Media

On top of attending the Grammys with client Mike Hector for his work on Doja Cat’s Planet Her, nominated for Album of the Year, Burg’s year has been full of highlights, including seeing client Sounwave hit #1 on the Album Producer chart for his efforts on Kendrick Lamar’s latest. He’s also working with Sounwave on three other projects, on two of which his client will be credited as an album producer, and more with Hector and client Laudiano. Somehow, Burg finds the time to surf every morning. We can barely make ourselves breakfast.

Travis Alexander
Partner & Manager, 3V Method

Working with 3V has been a career highlight for Alexander, who saw Peach Tree Rascals’ “Mariposa” hit #1 at Alternative in 2020. He’s thrilled to be part of a company that cultivates community and mutual development among its staff and clients, which include artists like OSTON, Kaleena Zanders, Felly and Prince Fox. He’s also been grateful to work with Disney + ESPN/X Games to facilitate music events for underserved children. Lucky for Alexander, he’s spent more time on the road this year than at home, making it easier to dodge us.

Corinne Dolan
A&R Manager, Virgin Music

From working as an assistant vinyl buyer for Urban Outfitters to landing her first industry gig at Virgin, it’s been a rewarding few years for Dolan, who first tapped into the A&R space by helping launch music-discovery platform Early Rising in 2020. Now, she’s geeked about her first signing to Virgin, the duo Fiji Blue—who dropped their sophomore EP, I Loved You, What Happened?, on 7/1—and working with Ruby Red, among others. Dolan claims to be “really good” at parallel parking. We’re mediocre at best (and our parallel parking is terrible).

Lydia Choi
Sr. Director, Label Management, Ingrooves

Choi was honored to have worked on an album by one of her favorite artists, Mac Miller’s posthumous Swimming in Circles, which earned a Grammy nomination for its packaging. She’ll likewise never forget being in the front row at a BTS show where 65,000 fans were singing their songs―in Korean, a peak moment for the Korean-American exec. Also on the K-pop front, Choi’s working on TWICE’s upcoming album, BETWEEN 1&2, out 8/26. In her younger days, the Hawaii native participated in piano and voice competitions. Our younger days are a blur.

Ira Goldenring
Agent, Wasserman Music

Goldenring feels fortunate to have witnessed 070 Shake selling out four nights at L.A.’s El Rey a week after dropping her sophomore album, You Can’t Kill Me. On top of executing a 12-month plan for Stephen Sanchez, whose “Until I Found You” recently crossed 170m Spotify streams, he’s working tours for Calum Scott, MAX and Shaggy & TLC and breaking DJs Ship Wrek and Disco Lines. Goldenring’s college concert series presented Honeymoon featuring Noisemaker Sara Bollwinkel on viola. He still occasionally wears the band’s T-shirt to the office.

Maria Gironas
Senior Media Partnerships Manager, Talent, Reddit
Founder, Cool Shit, Cool People

Gironas has interviewed Rick Astley, empowered the BTS ARMY squad on Reddit to design billboards celebrating the act’s “Butter” Grammy nom and listened to Niall Horan explaining “Put a Little Love on Me” over a Guinness in London. Her latest quests involve teaming up with Republic to bring Post Malone onto Reddit and welcoming The Black Keys for a Reddit Talk, as well as working with Angel22 for their latest single “LALALA” via TikTok’s SoundOn. In addition to volunteering on the diversity & inclusion committee of Women in Music, Gironas is a mental-health advocate.

Matt Buser
Entertainment Attorney, Buser Legal

For Buser, nothing beats walking client Warren G onto the field to perform “Regulate” for the Rams playoff game halftime show. This year Buser has also secured SteffLon Don as a performer at the UEFA women’s final and arranged pub deals for Bas (Kobalt) and Nik Dean (Ultra) and repped GloRilla in her inking to Yo Gotti’s CMG/Interscope and Destroy Lonely to Playboi Carti’s Opium/Interscope. He further closed an unprecedented new storyline deal with Marvel/Disney. #NotYourAverageLawyer, Buser is an avid pianist and guitarist. We’re plenty average.
