The Recording Industry Association of America is expanding its communications and creative teams with the hiring of Erin Burr (pictured), Jonathan Mancera and Ashley Donald.
Burr, who spent more than a dozen years at Big Machine Label Group and the Nashville Songwriters Association, will lead the RIAA’s press and media outreach as VP of media relations.
“Erin Burr has built a career helping artists break through and tell their stories on the biggest media stages in the world,” said RIAA Chairman and CEO Mitch Glazier. “And now, she can expand on that incredible track record advocating for smart policies that support all music creators and strengthen the foundation of the entire recorded-music industry for years to come.”
Digital Strategist Mancera will develop and execute digital-media campaigns and manage the association’s digital properties and social feeds; Studio and Stage Manager Donald will oversee sound production and recording at the recording studio and performance space at the RIAA’s new Washington, D.C., HQ.
“Not many DC trade associations employ sound engineers and videographers, but the RIAA has always put music and the arts first in everything we do,” said RIAA COO Michele Ballantyne. “Jonathan and Ashley supercharge a creative team led by longtime VP of Creative and Brand Strategy Rose Connelly with unique new tools to tell music’s story, spread its joy in the DC community and shine an even brighter spotlight on the work of our iconic record-label members.”
Not surprisingly, the RIAA’s hiring of Erin Burr has led to a drop-off in job applications from people named Alexander Hamilton.
