Propeller, the digital platform that unites social activism, charitable efforts and marketing campaigns and has worked with Justin Bieber, Lizzo and other musicians, is opening an investment fund with Wefunder.
The idea is to make investors, whether they’re longtime money guys or first-timers, feel good about where their money is going. The minimum investment is $250.
Among Propeller’s campaigns is Bieber’s Justice World Tour—through which fans can take action online and at his shows on behalf of organizations working on criminal-justice reform, climate action and mental-health support—and Lil Dicky’s “Greatest Places on Earth” campaign, which is awarding trips to some of the most stunning locations on the planet to contributors supporting climate action.
In the first six months of 2022, Propeller raised $500k for such affiliated organizations as Planned Parenthood, The Trevor Project, the NRDC and Save the Music, making this Propeller’s most successful year yet. Set to double its revenue for a third consecutive year, the New Orleans nonprofit recently launched campaigns with Lizzo, Demi Lovato, The National, Bon Iver, Lil Dicky, Kevin Gates, Aly & AJ and Jack Johnson, plus Bonnaroo, Outside Lands and Red Rocks Amphitheatre.
Lizzo’s third annual Juneteenth Giveback raised nearly $125k from more than 38k participants, and Bieber’s Justice campaign generated more than $165k for the Generosity Foundation.
