SOUNDEXCHANGE TAPS BONILLA AS TECH CHIEF

SoundExchange has upped Luis Bonilla to CTO from SVP, operations. He will assume his new role 8/1.

Based in Washington, D.C., he will report to SoundExchange president and CEO Michael Huppe, who said, “Luis’ vast institutional knowledge, deep expertise and proven leadership make him an invaluable asset to SoundExchange. With over a decade of experience enhancing our data and processes, Luis is uniquely positioned to champion new technologies that will ensure music is appropriately valued.”

Bonilla had been in his previous position since 2020. He joined SoundExchange as senior director of distribution services in 2011.

Bonilla transformed SoundExchange's royalty-distribution process, overhauled its international services, led bilateral exchanges with foreign collective-management organizations and piloted the development of SoundExchange's business intelligence and analytics practice.
