A raucous, loving, bittersweet retirement shindig at The Famished Frog in Morristown, N.J., for longtime Hollywood promo hitter Tony Smith brought out a throng of radio and record folk, not to mention video tributes from friends, family and such artists as Corey Hart, Hilary Duff, Jesse McCartney, BBMak and Josh Kelley; the latter reworked the lyrics to his hit “Amazing” in tribute to Tony.
And what would a party for a promo legend be without a massively populated trade photo? Seen wondering if it was time to order more pork schnitzel are (front, l-r) Capitol’s Becky Sake, Audacy’s Jim Ryan (seen in a rare supplicating posture) and Peloton’s Blad Jiminez; (middle, l-r) McCluskey and Associates’ David Perl, Smith, Scotty Finck and DMG’s Jimmy Walorz; and (back, l-r) SXM’s Alex Tear, Jason McFadden, Amplify’s Drew Murray and DMG’s Matt Duffy.
