It turns out that Anitta's "Envolver" (Warner Latina) made history on 3/24 when it soared to #1 on Spotify—per this month's Guinness World Records certification, the Brazilian star is the first solo Latin artist to have achieved that feat.
Global streaming king Bad Bunny didn't manage to hit that mark until Un Verano Sin Ti dropped in May; "Moscow Mule" opened at #1 on 5/6.
"Envolver" was released in 2021, but persistent fan activity, including a TikTok dance, and the impact of Anitta's own videos drove a resurgence of the single and pushed it up the chart.
Anitta's milestone year has also included a historic set on Coachella's main stage, where she became the first female Brazilian artist to perform at the festival.
We reached out to manager Brandon Silverstein for comment, but he hasn't returned our calls since a HITS editor passed out while chatting with him in the desert.
